The American car industry was at the top of a styling reawakening in the late 1930s, most of it inspired by the imaginative thinking and innovative designs which came from General Motors’.By 1939 Detroit was coming out with elegant new body designs that shed the onetime, now “classic” styling that came from 1930s. Till, 1939 the same happened in Europe where aerodynamic changes in automotive design were emerging, especially in France. Then everything came to a grinding halt in September morning when Poland was attacked by Germany.
